Pearl Racette: Winter in Arizona

Pearl Racette (’01) really has the good life figured out.  She winters in Apache Junction, Arizona summers in Newburyport, MA and manages to shoot and teach photography in both of her hometowns.  I’m all for warm weather but never thought much about Arizona’s scenery until a few of Pearl’s images appeared in my inbox last week.

Pearl wrote about her trip in the e-mail:  “It was a great winter here in Az this year – but the highlight of this winter was traveling around Page, AZ recently.  I led a group of 7 photographers  and we hiked and photographed the Slot Canyons in that area – at times it felt like ‘Outward Bound for Seniors’ – though at time physically challenging most times fun and  it was a wonderful visual experience. You should all travel there at least once in your life – it’s a life altering experience”
