Class of 2011 Winning Image for the Scholarship Fund

This year the New England School of Photography announced a scholarship for incoming students in need.  The Class of 2011 was presented with the first annual call for entry, juried by NESOP Administration, for creation of apparel and goods  to begin this scholarship fund.

2011 Graduation Exhibition

Congratualtions to the 2011 NESOP Graduating class! And kudos to Daniella Rascon, whose image was chosen for the Graduation Poster!

NESOP’s 2011 Graduate’s have labriously developed their portfolios over the preceding two years and have left NESOP with a truly amazing representation of the hard work and dedication they have each put into their specialty. We are proud to announce the 2011 Graduate Exhibition.

Congratulations Manolo Sandoval!

Manolo Sandoval, second year NESOP student, receives award from the Magenta Foundation and SNAP! 2011 annual SNAP!Stars competition.

Manolo was presented with a cash award from TD Canada Trust and his image was auctioned at the SNAP! Live Auction benefit raising $1000 for charity!

Congrats Ryan McBride on SPD 1st Place Prize!

(Guatemala, CA)- At this dump outside of Antigua, this is a way of survival for families to scrap recyclable items to survive. This is their daily living situation.

Our congratulations go out to Ryan McBride, NESOP 2nd Year student, who was awarded 1st Prize in Documentary/Reportage for SPD Self-Portrait Student Photography Competition!

As a part of Ryan’s 1st place prize, he will  have the unique opportunity to intern in the studio of award winning documentary photographer James Nachtwey.  He has also been awarded Adobe CS5 and a selection of photography books from SPD’s sponsor relationships with Abrams, Aperture,  D.A.P., and Powerhouse. Plus, his winning image will be published in the SPD Annual! Congrats Ryan!

Congratulations to Fiona Boyd!

Fiona Boyd’s photography, first year NESOP student,  was chosen for Rifrákt’s first publication, 25 Emerging Boston Artists 2010.

As stated on Rifrákt.com:

Rifrákt presents its premiere publication launch party on Friday, August 6th! The Temple {sound and stage} in Jamaica Plain will be hosting the event. Select works from the book artists will be on display. Boston bands, Huellas and The Organ Beats will also perform.

Congratulations Carly LaChant!

Carly LaChant, second year NESOP student, had the following image selected for the first annual PHOTOPLACE OPEN exhibition juried by Keith Carter at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont from May 21st through June 19th.

PhotoPlace Gallery stated that from over 1700 photographs submitted by nearly 300 photographers, Keith Carter chose only forty for exhibition at PhotoPlace. All accepted work will be included in a full-color small book publication that will be available for purchase through The Vermont Photography/PhotoPlace Gallery official website.

Congratulations to Chandra Guthro!

Chandra Guthro, second year NESOP students, receives award from the Magenta Foundation and SNAP! 2010 annual SNAP!Stars competition.

Chandra was presented with a cash award from TD Canada Trust and her image was auctioned at the SNAP! Live Auction benefit raising $1250 for the community-based AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) charity organization!

Yusuke Suzuki, first year student at NESOP, wins 2nd Place in the Society of Publication Designers’ Virtue and Vice Student Photo Competition.

Yusuke won the opportunity to have Stephanie Mayes, managing director of VII Photo Agency, review his portfolio! Congratulations to Yusuke for winning such a coveted opportunity!
